The Avenor Spare Parts Dealers Association has been inaugurated in the Greater Accra Region to boost numerical strength for more effective advocacy on matters affecting the spare parts businesses.
The Association is a branch of Ghana National Spare Parts Dealers Association which was established over 20 years ago under the company Act 1963 (Act 179) as Odaw River Spare Parts Dealers Association.
Addressing the media, the Chairman of Avenor Spare Parts Dealers Association, Richard Owusu Mensah the aim of the Association is to deal with the menace of illegal foreigners in the retail trade sector.
According to him, the aim of the Association is also to create enabling business environment that will give Ghanaians a competitive advantage to be able to stand the challenges that come with globalization.
He added that, the Association aimed to deal with those who sold fake spare parts in the country.
He therefore appealed to all spare parts dealer, who operate within Kwame Nkrumah Circle to Nsawam area who have not join any spare parts Association as a matter of urgency join nearest Association so that the Sector will be more efficiency and also deal with others who operate illegal.
The eight member team pledge their fully corporation to support Guta achieve it’s intended purpose and deal with dealers of Fake mechanical parts.
In attendance was the GUTA president, Representative from the office of Member of Parliament the Avenor Chief and the Assembly member and many spare parts dealers.
